Tony Craddock, Jr. is an emerging jazz saxophonist whose music uplifts people, just as a cold front lifts warm air. He is also the bandleader and musical director of Tony Craddock, Jr. & Cold Front.
Tony released his third album H2O on March 16, 2018, produced by his friend and mentor, chart-topping jazz guitarist Ken Navarro, and featuring Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum on a soul-stirring arrangement of “Amazing Grace.”
H2O‘s radio single, “Living Water” (featuring Ken Navarro), has aired on Sirius XM Watercolors, Music Choice Smooth Jazz and more than 30 radio stations in the United States, United Kingdom and Poland. Tony’s previous releases Convection (2013) and Christmas in the Air(2011) have aired on outlets The Weather Channel, Pandora Radio, and 65 radio stations in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain.
Some of Tony’s performances include the National Anthem for the NBA and WNBA; and headlining at venues throughout the Washington, D.C. Metro Area including Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club, the U.S. Botanic Garden, and National Harbor; and special events in Michigan, Texas, and Georgia. He has also shared the stage with award-winning artists Ken Navarro, Kim Jordan, Ben Tankard, and Luther Barnes, and renowned actress/singer Rebecca Holden (Nightrider, General Hospital).
His passions for music and weather began at age 8, courtesy of the smooth jazz on The Weather Channel’s “Local on the 8s.” He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Cornell University, and after graduating, he founded the indie label Cold Front Music. Tony believes his music has nothing to do with him, but rather the gifts with which God has blessed him. Tony is a native of Northern Virginia, and currently lives in the Washington D.C. area with his wife and daughter.
